Dance Program

Hi! My name is Shannon Cleary, and I am a senior at BGSU on the 2018 Homecoming Court. I am double majoring in public relations and dance and am part of the Honors College as a Presidential Award Scholar. I currently serve as the President of University Dance Alliance, the BGSU Dance Team Social Media Coordinator and an Honors Ambassador. I am also part of the Public Relations Student Society of America and Kappa Tau Alpha Honor Society and work as a Campus Tour Guide and Scholar Recruitment Student Coordinator in the Office of Admissions. 

I have chosen the BGSU Dance Program as my Falcon Funded initiative because of my personal passion for the program and how it positively impacts students on campus as well as the culture of BGSU. I have been awarded so many opportunities through the Dance Program to express my creativity, build a portfolio and connect with professionals in my field through conferences and real-world experience. I even had the incredible honor of performing for Eva-Marie Saint, an Academy Award winning BGSU alumna. It is my personal goal to ensure that future BGSU students interested in Dance may have the same opportunities!

Additionally, the BGSU Dance Program is part of the performing arts culture here at BGSU, and I believe supporting this program will positively affect the culture and atmosphere of BGSU's campus in being able to offer more performing arts opportunities and experiences to students.
