Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have reached our initial goal of $1,000! We would like to increase our goal to $2,000. This additional funding would allow us to provide financial support for more Saturday Art Program classes!
The BGSU Art Education Department and our pre-service teacher interns are asking for financial assistance for children’s art supplies for our Saturday Art Program.
BGSU Art Education majors enroll each semester in ARTE 4070, a course which is an advanced methods teaching class. This class provides undergrad pre-service teachers the opportunity to teach their own class of children thoughout the semester. The classes range from kindergarten through high school.
The little ones who sign up for our Saturday Art classes are required to pay an art supply fee. However, not all area families can afford this. We appreciate and love our current families who support our program and enroll their K-12 students. We would really like your help to include all children who have a love for art to join our youth classes. By doing this we would provide a diverse class population for our teachers to enhance their educational experience.
Our Saturday Art Program is set up to provide 1 ½ hour youth art lessons for 10 Saturdays though out our fall and spring semesters. Our BGSU pre-service teachers are assigned their own class for the semester and are able to experience all aspects of being a teacher. With this financial support we will enhance this experience for our teachers and for the young ones who love art!
Please support our cause and let others know about our fundraising efforts! The more funds we can raise the more little ones and teachers we can support for the Saturday Art Program!
