The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) is a national student-run organization with a mission to advance leadership, design and service among architecture students. We are dedicated to providing unmatched progressive programs, information and resources on issues critical to architecture and the experience of education. The AIAS aims to promote excellence in architectural education, training and practice. We foster an appreciation of architecture and related disciplines, enrich communities in a spirit of collaboration and organize students to combine their efforts to advance the art and science of architecture. Our AIAS chapter here at Bowling Green State University is proud to announce that we have doubled our membership since last year and we now have over 25% participation within our program. To celebrate our growing organization, we are aiming to take as many members as possible to the 2020 AIAS Midwest quad conference.
Each year, regional conferences hosted by local chapters are selected to organize a themed conference based on their city, local culture and architectural topic of choice. These are known as quad conferences and are a terrific way to meet other students and professionals in your region, learn about architecture outside of the studios and have a lot of fun. AIAS Quad is the largest annual architecture and design conference in the Midwest quadrant of the United States, offering students the opportunity to learn about issues facing architectural education and the profession, to meet and network with other students and professionals and to interact with today’s leading architects.
This spring, BGSU AIAS is aiming to send as many members as possible to University of Kansas for the 2020 Midwest Quad Conference. Your contribution would help us offset the costs of flights, hotels, meals and registration for a large group of dedicated students. It is important to each and every one of our members that we attend this conference not only as an opportunity for professional development, but to represent BGSU and the College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering.
