Greek Village Series: Zeta Phi Beta

Welcome! To Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Psi Epsilon Chapter Falcon Funded Page!

For those of us fortunate enough to experience on campus housing, we know a few things: We know that living on campus provides easier access to class and other campus resources, lessening the burden and stress that comes with academic excellence. Secondly, we are familiar with the camaraderie and life-long bonds that are created when we surround ourselves with like-minded individuals. Lastly, there are new paths to be created and emblazoned with passion -- paths that start at the heart of campus living, fired by love.

How You Can Help

This is where YOU come in. This year, the University completes construction of its Greek Village Project, which are opening this month. The opportunity is present for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated to, again, reside on this campus in one of the new and improved four bedroom chapter houses. Your immediate contribution will help with our chapter's parlor fee and for on-going professional and chapter enhancement activities.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Psi Epsilon Chapter was chartered on the campus of Bowling Green State University on May 25, 1974 by eight women we know as “First Choice.” Due to their efforts, since then, this chapter is still going strong, building on their legacy for 42 years. Psi Epsilon, has established itself as one of the leading African-American organizations on campus. Having initiated more than 200 sorors, our alumnae are recognized and revered across the length and breadth of this nation. There are currently two alumna sorors serving on the 2020 Centennial Commission: Sorors Cathy Mock and Cutia Blunt.  Soror Blunt has also served as Credentials Chair for the past three Boules.  Alumna Soror Andrell Hall is one of four sorors with interior design expertise selected for the “Zeta Housewarming Project” to redecorate our newly renovated National Headquarters. The first Psi Epsilon soror to hold a national office was Sharon (Riddick) Bennett under Grand Basileus Dr. Jylla Moore Tearte. She was appointed as the National Antapokritis, Editor-in-Chief of the Archon.  And, most recently, Soror Vanessa Elkins Rogers was elected as a National Trustee at the 2016 Boule becoming the first Psi Epsilon soror elected to serve on the board as a National Officer. Our last five intake lines, dating back to 2009, have demonstrated a 95 percent graduation rate.  During last fall’s intake, we welcomed seven new sisters to our chapter, increasing opportunities to promote our sorority.  We are excited to have a number of interested women going into this coming year.

Zetas Give Back

Now, 42 years later we are an active BGLO (Black Greek Letter Organization) involved in various aspects of campus life, as well as in the Bowling Green/Toledo communities. These activities include: Mr. Blu Magic Scholarship Pageant, Finer Womanhood Week, NPHC Step Show, Weekly Study Tables, Martha’s Soup Kitchen, Woodlane Residential, and Love Baskets for Victims of Domestic Violence (Toledo, OH Women’s Shelter). We have established many leadership roles within Zeta such as members becoming ZOL certified, attending State and Regional Conferences, and attending AFLV Leadership Conferences; members have also held leadership roles within the National Panhellenic Council.
