The Roots Music Club, (RMC) an on-campus student organization at Bowling Green State University, was founded by Mike Bryce just three years ago. The RMC is a community of musicians, singers, songwriters, and music lovers, united by our passion for all kinds of music. As members of the RMC, students have valuable and unique opportunities they would not otherwise have, like creating an album in a real recording studio. This type of experiential learning truly benefits students who go on to seek a career in this field.
After successfully funding and recording a full-length album in previous years, we decided to make the project an annual affair. As result, every spring, we work together to write and record songs to be compiled into an album, showcasing the talent and abilities of the student-members.
Our members have worked incredibly hard to write songs and perform together on this album and we are so excited to say that the recordings at Stone Soup Studios in Maumee, Ohio, have been a great success. It has been a pleasure to work within the community and build such a great partnership. The album will feature 16-17 songs ranging from a wide variety of genres and will feature performances from more than 30 students including:
Grant Baldwin, Wes Britt, Colton Buettner, Ben Cameron, Luke Cardwell, Nadia Damron, Kyle Douglass, Josh Digman, Discount Nostalgia, Anna Eyink, April Freed, Cory Garbe, Ben Glasure, Maddy Grimm, Matthew Hawkins, Barry Johnson, Dylan Kraska, Eric Lamorelle, Ali Luedtke, Flannery Murnen, Michaela Natal, Jeff Pendleton, Jared Roger, Britt Rhuart, Charles Sanchez, Jake Shellist, Devonte Stovall, Mike Stram, Ben Tuttle, Tom Vasey, Phil Zitko, Tom Zitko, and more.
We need help from generous people like you. We finished recording the album and now we need help raising money to cover the costs of CD creation and duplication. Our goal is to raise $1,000 to create 300 copies of the CD and 100 Posters to help promote the CD. All the money goes towards the Roots Music Club. Your support will help continue to foster the environment of creativity and keep all other traditions of RMC alive!
For $10, you can help us provide one copy of the finished CD to a club member.
For $60, you can create 100 posters to help promote the club and the album.
For $100, you can provide a recording session for three groups/acts.
