Hi there! My name is Meg Burrell and I am a senior studying Political Science with a minor in Sociology. I am originally from Bluffton, Ohio. On campus I am involved with the Panhellenic Council as the Vice President of Standards, BGSU Votes, and the Presidents Leadership Academy. I also completed a two year term on the University's Board of Trustees, which deepened my passion for shared governance. I was asked to serve as a co-chair for BGSU's Task Force on Sexual Assault this summer, and it was an easy yes.
As a result of that experience, I have chosen the Task Force on Sexual Assault Initiatives Fund for my Falcon Funded project. Sexual Assault is a problem facing Universities across the country, and BGSU is no exception. The difference at BGSU is that we have support from the University to help put an end to it. The University accepted the Task Force on Sexual Assault Report in full! If you haven't gotten the chance to read the report, check it out!
As you can see in the report, the University is creating a center to focus on sexual violence prevention, increasing bystander intervention training for students, hiring new staff members to ensure our Title IX process is fair, and so much more! Money donated to this fund goes to help ensure the safety of fellow falcons.
I hope you will consider donating to this worthy cause!
