The BGSU Percussion Ensemble performs off campus many times each year, usually at high schools, universities, and for community events. This year, we have been invited to perform at the 2024 Edeta Arts Festival, held in Llíria, Spain. Llíria is a city with a rich cultural heritage, and has been declared a Creative City of Music by UNESCO.

During the festival students will give multiple performances, including collaborations with other college-level percussionists from the US and abroad. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in clinics by visiting percussion artists. The festival will culminate in a finale performance featuring the world premiere performance of a new large-scale work by featured composer Michael Udow that calls for 85 percussionists! Students will also have the opportunity to participate in Spanish culture, including authentic meals and Flamenco lessons.

This experience provides students with an incredible international performance opportunity in which they will collaborate with musicians from around the world. Even more importantly, they will have have an immersive cultural experience that is sure to be transformative in their lives.

Total cost for each student is approximately $3000.

Your gift will help students cover the cost of airfare, lodging, meals, concert/clinic attendance, and sightseeing adventures. Any size gift is appreciated!
